In practice, the patented cooling process of mold segments, the temperature of which is difficult to control, has been repeatedly tested. Every caster is familiar with this basic problem: in the area of accumulation of material of thick-walled rods and rods, it is often impossible to make holes for temperature control, since they will collide with elements for injection molding or extraction from the mold.
Consequently, these areas heat up, which leads to an increase in cooling time, defects in the quality of molded parts and problems of extraction from the mold. A general decrease in the temperature level of the entire mold temperature control would lead to quality problems in other areas of the molded part. Connecting a water cooler running on a water-glycol mixture would be uneconomical and impractical.
Two methods of solving the problem
GWK's patented solution includes cold water temperature controllers that can operate without glycol in the temperature range from 0 °C to 25°C. The user can choose one of two models that differ in cooling capacity and flow rate. Precise microprocessor control with simultaneous display of nominal and actual values, simple one-touch operation, additional interfaces on the front panel and connection of an external sensor, splash-proof electrics and ready-to-connect cable wiring with a CEE connector make the device ready for operation for immediate use.
The operation of stopping leaks, emptying the mold, acoustic alarm, automatic filling and refilling, the possibility of additional manual filling of conditioned water, a strainer in the cooling water connection and parts made of corrosion-resistant materials in contact with the medium are part of a comprehensive equipment standard.
Directly in the block next to the mold, the circulating water is cooled to lower temperatures. The heat that has been absorbed in the mold is dissipated in the cooling water of the hydraulic cooling of the injection molding machine.
The TECO CW series includes various performance ranges, so that, in addition to cooling individual mold segments, smaller and medium-sized injection molds can be fully provided with cooling water.
