Extrusion lines for the production of sheet from XPERT

The growing availability of recycled material from used bottle flakes has prompted us in recent years to develop an innovative line capable of turning used PET flakes into a high-quality foamed PET sheet.

For production up to 250 kg/h, we use a twin-screw extruder with slow rotation in one direction, and for higher productivity, up to 600 kg/h, we use a tandem system.

Advantages of the XPET sheet

Foamed PET has excellent barrier properties, < 5 cc/m2/day/atm (without the use of EVOH), resistance to high temperatures up to 190°C and is completely recyclable, as it is made of 100% r-PET, so it takes care of the environment and reduces production costs.

Products such as disposable tableware and glasses, various food trays can be obtained from XPERT sheet by thermoforming, as well as, in combination with paper sheets, various printing products can be made.

Design features

The PET sheet extrusion process also includes a crystallization and drying phase, which allows the material to be crystallized and dried so as not to lose viscosity during the extrusion phase.

The round extrusion head for the production of very low density foamed PET (≈ 0.100-0.450 g/cm3) is equipped with an external edge opening adjustment, and the calibrator consists of a cooling tank for the inner part of the sheet and a ring. with a fan for the outside of the sheet.
