For the production of insulating pipes, UNION can offer customers various solutions. Single-screw extruders (usually for small pipes), twin-screw extruders with unidirectional rotation with a diameter of 90-180 mm or tandem systems.

Design features

Extrusion lines can be equipped with a second extruder, which applies a rigid shell to close the pores of the tubes on top of the insulated pipe. It is also possible, with a small diameter, to extrude an expanded pipe directly around the insulated copper pipe. Multi-spindle heads can significantly increase the productivity of the extrusion line.

Range of applications

Foamed polyethylene and polypropylene pipes are mainly used for thermal insulation of pipeline systems through which cooled or hot liquids or gases are transported.
