Quality and economy

In 1989, UNION produced the first PET equipment. To date, UNION extrusion lines for PET sheet are characterized by reliability, low energy consumption, high productivity and excellent quality of the products obtained.

Highly efficient degassing system allows you to work at 100%
with flakes from post-consumer PET, maintaining a high
level of leaf viscosity without using a pre-drying system.

Engineering innovations

The new FIS type calender for calibration and polishing with an inclination of 45° is designed for thin PET sheets. It is equipped with a mechanical opening and closing system that provides a maximum pressure of 150 kg / cm and a cross-axis system to reduce the deformation of the cylinder during calendering, as well as optimizing the thickness of the sheet in the longitudinal and transverse directions. The opening/closing of the cylinders is carried out automatically by means of brushless motors.

UNION flat-plate extrusion heads are made of
special steel and ensure a uniform flow of material
at the outlet. They can be equipped with internal limiters
to adjust the width of the sheet and a micrometer system for
precise thickness adjustment.

Application areas

The PET sheet thermoforming method is used to produce food packaging, such as a variety of trays, lids, cans, cups, as well as transparent egg trays. Non-food packaging produced by thermoforming a PET sheet into a blister pack is used to protect all types of products.
